General Crozier is a four-star General in the United States Army. His job in the Tribunal, as stated by Mr. Salacia, is information gathering, which Crozier is not happy about.
He brings a military viewpoint to the Tribunal's dealings with Dethklok, and usually recommends military action, often in the form of assassination. Despite his view that Dethklok should be dealt with in the most efficient manner, he usually has the most realistic predictions, sometimes questioning if certain things the band does are really that dangerous.
Despite being a high-ranking military official, General Crozier often leads operations personally and has no issues with working in the field. He has demonstrated competent, if not, expert abilities in combat. On one occasion, he personally followed Dethklok through the Amazon with a detachment of special forces personnel while surviving the jungle, hostile natives, and Dethklok's own indiscriminate destruction of the rainforest. He was also one of the only if not the only soldiers to survive Dethklok's expedition into the Amazon.
History[]
General Crozier goes against the Tribunal's wishes several times. He covertly sends an assassin to Mordhaus to eliminate Dethklok, which fails. He also gathers a large military force to kill them in "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," having formed an alliance with Cardinal Ravenwood in this endeavor. This backfires when Salacia discovers their betrayal and brutally kills Ravenwood. However, he merely puts Crozier to sleep, claiming he is still needed. Crozier returns with no memory of anything after the attack on Dethklok itself, but with strange nightmares of Ravenwood's death.
In the episode "Dethcarraldo," during a botched attempt to disrupt Dethklok's plans in the Amazon, Crozier is forced by the native Yaneemango Indians to partake in a drug known as yopo. He imagines the bloodied and disfigured Ravenwood again, along with the soldiers killed by Salacia. The vision of Ravenwood claims that General Crozier is dead, but he is seen later at the Tribunal meeting concerning Dethklok's new manager.
In "Dethrelease" he is appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by the President and he focuses his attention on capturing the Revengencers . He arrives at Mordhaus and to stop the Revengencers attack, there he is confronted by Orlaag and Salacia. Selatcia implants a vision depicting him and Dethklok, which presumably puts him under mind control. This is confirmed in "RenovationKlok, when Salacia uses Crozier's newfound power over the U.S. Army to build some sort of device. Crozier doesn't speak again until "Dethhealth".
In "Doublebookedklok AKA The Dead Man", it is revealed that the device the army is constructing is part of the Tribunal's top-secret FalconBack Project. Crozier, Senator Stampingston, Vater Orlaag, and Mr. Salacia are revealed by Crozier to be the only ones aware of the projects existence, though they suspect that Charles Foster Ofdensen is also aware of it and that Ofdensen witnessed Salacia's brainwashing of General Crozier.
In Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, Crozier was temporarily freed from Salacia's control while he was in the process of "possessing another". He attempted to write a letter to his family, confessing how he "unwillingly" helped bring about the end of the world and tried to share his experience with what he learned about Salacia and being possessed by him, and passed his note off to a soldier to deliver it. Unfortunately, Crozier and the soldier were caught by Orlaag, and the soldier was murdered as a traitor. Salacia took control of Crozier again and reminded him to not take advantage of his "kindness" before informing his men to find and destroy the army of the doomstar, along with stopping Nathan from writing the Song of Salvation. While Dethklok performed "Aortic Desecration", Crozier is seen as part of the assault on Deus Keep and was temporarily freed again while Salacia switched control from him to Murderface. After being freed, he jumped from his helicopter and landed in the water, where Salacia exited his body completely. Crozier found Nathan, Pickles, Swkisgaar, and Toki in a cave and explained everything to them. He told them they had been infiltrated, that the Army was destroyed, about being possessed and freed from Salacia, and Murderface being controlled by him now. He also explained that "something" in the water terrified Salacia and forced him out of his body as he informed them that they had to perform an exorcism. He explained that they had to submerge Murderface underwater until Salacia exited his body also, but warned them to be careful because they could kill him that way. After Murderface is freed, Crozier stays with Dethklok to help save the world and make up for his contribution to its near end. Upon returning to Mordhaus, Edgar Jomfru is not pleased to see him, even after Crozier apologized for everything, but Nathan vouched for him. After Edgar's Universal Stereo is launched, Crozier is impressed with the technology, along with the Dethpods they flew in towards the center so Dethklok could perform the Song of Salvation. During the flight, Crozier explained to them that Salacia was going to become more powerful than before and bring reinforcements through "The Great Reuniting". He explained that he built a super conductor (The Falconback Project) to pull the Doomstar closer to the planet as it was not just a star, but also "a portal to another place and time...and a weapon", where he could be reunited with his four remaining souls and become whole again. Nathan asked what everything had to do with them as Salacia told them to find him, Crozier told him that the Doomstar needed a powerful force to wedge the portal open, which was them. He also explained that the Doomstar gave Dethklok gifts as well: The Dethlights. After Dethklok performs the song, the stage is shot down, and Crozier and Jomfru sneak onto the military base to destroy the conductor after Jomfru sacrifices himself to set off a bomb and was gunned down by soldiers. By this time, the real Army of the Doomstar, the fans, showed up with Offdensen to take on Salacia's men and protect Dethklok. Crozier snuck into one of the radio towers and ordered the U.S. military to stand down, protect the fans, and held Salacia's men and gunpoint, making them surrender.
Trivia[]
- Crozier's name is taken from the word for a staff carried by high-up Christian clergyman, and the staff represents loyalty.
- Crozier's constant attempts to kill Dethklok are an extreme representation of what the governments of the world should be attempting; making the band pay for all the death and destruction their idiocy has caused. Deepening the irony is that Dethklok is so stupid, they mistook the military attempting to kill them for crazed fans.
- It's implied his brainwashing wasnt absolute, as Salacia would only curb Crozier's desire to kill Dethklok; seeing as he is still himself in meetings and isnt noted to act unusual in his private life.
