Performanceklok is the seventh episode of Season 1 of Metalocalypse .

Synopsis

While performing a Dethklok concert in a city near Machaerus, Jordan, Skwisgaar accidently pulls out an electrical plug connected to the electric systems on stage with his boot, causing a mechanical failure and for the guitar instruments to not work. This sets off a chain reaction: An angry Murderface knocks Skwisgaar into the gut with his bass. Nathan, who sees this, punches Murderface hard in retaliation, sending him crashing straight into Toki. Toki attempts to smash Murderface on the head with his guitar but fails and ends up falling into and wrecking Pickles's drum set. Pickles, furious at Toki for wrecking his drum set, attempts to kill him by throwing a cymbal at him, but Toki dodges and it hits a Dethklok fan in the neck instead. However the rest of the audience is oblivious to this and they cheer while all of the band members proceed to fight violently on stage.

Back at Mordhaus , the members of Dethklok have their wounds tended by Klokateers. Nathan, who is sporting a black eye and a missing tooth from the stage fight, tells his bandmates that it's okay to fight each other but it's not okay if their fights causes them to lose their money in expenses (Nathan had been reading a newspaper where the concert goers at Machaerus had sued Dethklok, the result of the stage fight causing 16.7 million dollars worth of damage.). Skwisgaar, who has part of his hair pulled out by Pickles, notices that the yard wolves are starving. Just then Ofdensen appears and announces that the only way to prevent future stage fights and riots is to have ever band member to go through therapy. Meanwhile the Tribunal finds out about the damaging riots caused by the stage fight and that Dethklok is going through therapy. They send in Dr. Johnathan Twinkletits, a former member of the band Amazelingtons who, driven mad by the breakup of his band, disappeared for ten years and emerged as a therapist with extreme methods in dealing with his patients, to treat Dethklok in hopes that he'll cause Dethklok to disband.

At the office of Twinkletits, an unhappy and reluctant Dethklok listens to Twinkletits talk about their current "problems" of being with each other, and reveals that he knows about it because he was in a band once. Skwisgaar then makes a rude comment and is slapped hard in the face, much to the shock of his bandmates. A now hardened Twinkletits declares that he is currently in charge because the members of Dethklok are weak and terrified, and if they make one small move they're going to lose everything. Skwisgaar points out that he slapped him and Twinkletits denies it. At Mordhaus Dethklok are in the recording room with Twinkletits two weeks later, to see how they treat each other when he's not there. During a recording session, Toki breaks a guitair string, causing Skwisgaar to request that Nathan let him record because Toki is learing how to "unplay a guitar". Toki hears this through the talkback microphone, so Skwisgaar requests that Pickles let him know when the talkback microphone is on so Toki doesn't go the "crybaby's house" for vacation the next time he hears his comments, but unfortunately Toki can still hear them talking. A frustrated Skwisgaar asks Toki if he wanted the Be-Able-To-Hear-Things Award for listening on them, and Toki admits that it doesn't sound like a great award at all. Twinkletits asks if it is okay to insult Toki during recording sessions, and when the rest of the bandmates say it's okay to do so, he has Toki show his creative voice by singing to Dethklok music while everyone watches, which Toki is reluctant to do but does so when the therapist yells at him. It turns out Toki's singing is terrible, even though he has decent singing skills when not pressed by someone else; only Twinkletits claps for his effort.

In the dining hall, the band members are watching a medical video about eyes while having lunch, when Twinkletits annouces that he is holding a meeting. Pickles points out that he can't hold meetings because it's Ofdensen's job because he's the band manager, and Twinkletits is just a mere therapist. However Twinkletits says that he can because he made himself a member of Dethklok, and to reward Toki's efforts he gives him a banana sticker he got from a storage lock on his belt. Murderfaces asks if he can have one but is told he cannot have a banana sticker until he has "proven himself", causing him to throw a tantrum by smashing his bass on the ground and wrecking havoc. After that fiasco Twinkletits interrogates Murderface on what happened, but Murderface refuses to answer. He is goaded into talking when Twinkletits decides to keep the banana stickers and suggestively moves his belt, and recalls his watching the murder-suicide of his birth parents when he was a baby, the result being causing the current Murderface to wet his pants. For his efforts, Twinkletits gives him a banana sticker.

Over the course of several days, Twinkletits wins over Dethklok with his "persuasive" methods and banana stickers, causing the band members to lose their brutal ways and become more nicer and friendlier to each other, and also lose their black death metal attire that they were famous for and adopt typical civillian clothes. Twinkletits calls his former band about his good news of joining a successful band, but it is revealed that his bandmates have been long dead, and he had murdered them all with a pen. Unknown to him, a shocked Toki overhears the phone conversation and later tells his bandmates about it in a private bathroom conversation. At first they are incredulous, but Nathan points out that things have been getting out of hand ever since Twinkletits became a member of Dethklok, and says that they'll have to fire him while revealing that he had recently found out that they can fire people who have been employed by them. Then Pickles tells everyone that if they fire Twinkletits then they're not going to have banana stickers anymore.

After this, the whole band confronts Twinkletits after he reveals that he is going on tour with them, and annouces that he is fired. Nathan reveals to Twinkletits that the band found out they can buy "psychological validation", and shows the therapist a chest full of banana stickers. Twinkletits loses it and attempts to kill them with the same pen he used to kill his own band, but ends up slipping on a banana sticker and falls out the window and onto the ground, where he gets mauled by the yard wolves down below. While the band watches, Toki and Skwisgaar talk about the yard wolves getting nourished by their recent meal, and Toki says that the "cycle of learning" is complete. Skwisgaar says that they have all learned a lesson but when asked by Pickles, he replies that he doesn't know but says that it is metal to watch someone getting eaten by wolves. Nathan, who is recording what is happening outside with a video camera, says that he will admit that he had loved Twinkletits while Murderface says that now their therapist is dead, it has become easier to say emotional things about him. Pickles wonders if he is the only one who is made to feel hungry by watching the wolves. Nathan decides that they should eat, and the eyes of every band member glows a demonic red.
